Taylah Fellows from the Gold Coast travelled 15,000 kilometres to Utrecht after leaving her news anchor position at a local radio Hot Tomato in her search for independence.
How? Travelling and writing. She didn’t always want to be a journalist, having cracked through the entertainment industry, she found no depth in it. Writing about climate change, political or environmental issues, children rights, refugee crises and also creating solutions to these problems is a part of what she describes as her “big hippie goal”. Working for a NGO would be the stepping stone to making those dreams come true.
While working for Hot Tomato she had to talk to a wide range of people and
realised that what she liked most about journalism was the interaction, taking to the people, knowing some random facts about them and she also found that she was so good at doing it!
